Edward has visited local Thurmaston employer, Qualvis Print and Packaging Ltd, to discuss the business with Chairman, Jason Short, and to see for himself its investment in a state of the art double-digital packaging line - the first such packaging line in the world.

Syston Carnival 2016: Even rain failed to dampen spirits!

Even heavy rain failed to dampen spirits at the 2016 Syston Carnival, nor did it deter local people from turning out to enjoy this great annual event. Edward enjoyed a visit to the carnival, meeting stall-holders, and visiting the Syston Town News stand.

Edward cut the ribbon at the official re-opening of the newly refurbished Groby Post Office. Threatened with closure by Post Office Ltd, the local community and the trades union rallied around, with everyone pressing the Post Office to rethink its plans.
