Commonwealth Day, falling this year on 9th March, is an important opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the strength and importance of our historic ties with the Commonwealth, and the countries that are members on it, and Edward has taken the opportunity to highlight the Commonwealth's continuing relevance and value both to the United Kingdom, but also the world more widely.
Edward said: "On Commonwealth Day it is important we remember and reflect on not just our historic and long-standing ties with Commonwealth countries, but the value of those strong links today, in an every changing and often more challenging world. The Commonwealth helps bring not only stability, and opportunities for its member countries, but is a living reflection of deep-rooted friendships that endure today and continue to benefit the UK."
