Leicestershire's County Flag has been proudly flying in Parliament Square in Westminster to mark Historic County Flags Day.
The day is an opportunity to recognise that the historic counties of our country continue to play an important part in the history, cultural, and daily life of our nation, and to express the pride that we feel in our county of Leicestershire. Leicestershire's County Flag is a relatively new addition to the flags displayed in Parliament Square each year, with the flag only being registered with the Flag Institute in 2021, making Leicestershire the last English county to have a registered flag.
