Edward has called on Leicestershire County Council (LCC) to replace bollards on the traffic island in Asfordby as you leave the village travelling towards Melton, that have been knocked down by traffic and are yet to be repaired.
Bollards like these, while seemingly a minor issue, play an important part in road and pedestrian safety so, while there will be occasions they get knocked down by passing traffic, it is important LCC move swiftly to fix them when this does happen, especially on as busy a road as the road through Asfordby into Melton Mowbray.
Edward said: "Damaged or missing bollards or street signs, where they've been hit by traffic, can become a road safety issue, which is why I have intervened to call on LCC's Highways team to replace these missing bollards in Asfordby as swiftly as possible. The road through Asfordby is increasingly busy and can carry heavy traffic, so it is important that these are fixed asap."
