Edward has joined local Councillor David Chubb for a meeting in Wymondham Village Hall to meet local residents, including the Chair of the Parish Council, and to discuss the repairs needed at the hall, and the fundraising needed to deliver them.
After meeting the Village Hall Committee, and seeing for himself the repairs and improvements needed, Edward said: "It was a real pleasure to be in Wymondham to meet local residents as part of my round of local village drop-ins, and to discuss the repairs and improvements the Village Hall Committee want to make to this much-used, and much-valued building. Village Halls, and the volunteers who help run them, are one of the buildings at the heart of the community life of our rural villages like Wymondham, but, like the beautiful and important village hall in Wymondham, they also need repairs and renovation from time to time, and that requires the support not just of the community, but from organisations and grants-giving organisations more widely.
I want to pay huge tribute to all those I met who help run the village hall which is so important to village life, and who are working on the fundraising. They have my support as Wymondham's local MP, and I hope that people who are able to will help contribute to the fundraising and repairs to Wymondham Village Hall."
