Edward has met with Cancer Research UK in Parliament to discuss their latest research, and progress in the fight against cancer.
Cancer Research UK is the UK's leading cancer research charity, undertaking world-leading research into different types of cancer, and potential treatments for it. Alongside their work funding and carrying out ground-breaking research, the charity develops evidence-based policy to help inform Government decisions on cancer and research, and is playing a key part in the fight against cancer, to help more people live longer with cancer, and ultimately to help cure different cancers and save more lives.
Edward said: "For around 120 years we've seen discoveries made that save lives, and Cancer Research UK is at the forefront of the work to better diagnose and better treat cancer, helping save thousands of lives every year. Huge progress has been made in understanding cancer, and finding new innovative treatments to help beat it. Everyone knows someone who has had cancer or is currently being treated for it, so Cancer Research UK's work is more vital than ever, and it was a great pleasure to meet them to hear about that pioneering research, and also to give them my full support."
