Edward has met with Dr Hilda Hayo, Chief Admiral Nurse, and the team from Dementia UK at their 'Time For a Cuppa' annual parliamentary tea party, in partnership with Nationwide, to discuss their fantastic work supporting people with dementia & their families as part of his campaign to improve support for people with dementia and their families in Melton and Syston.
Dementia UK are the specialist dementia nursing charity whose Admiral Nurses are increasingly well-known and hugely valued, providing free, advice and hugely important support, to anyone affected by dementia, and Edward is campaigning to ensure access to this fantastic support in Melton and Syston, and across Leicestershire.
Edward said: “Dementia UK, and their Admiral Nurses, do amazing, life-changing, work to support people with dementia and their families. Dementia is an issue I have taken a close interest in, and campaigned on, since before I entered Parliament, and something that impacts more and more people, so it was great to catch up with Dementia UK to discuss their work nationally, but also what more can be done to ensure access to Admiral Nurses as part of my campaign for better support for people with dementia and those who care for them, here in Melton and Syston."
