In what is an annual fixture for Edward, he has attended 2026's 'Open Doors' charity event in Parliament, both to hear more about the challenges to freedom of religion around the world, but also to mark the publication of Open Doors' 'World Watch List 2026'.
Edward said: "The annual 'Open Doors' event in Parliament is always a January fixture in the diary, and always a real pleasure to attend, alongside so many parliamentary colleagues. This year, with conflicts continuing to rage around the world, and freedom of religion under threat in so many different countries, it was particularly powerful. Freedom of religious expression is hugely important to me, but also to many of my constituents, so I wanted to represent them at this important event too. It was also an opportunity to get a copy of the 2026 annual freedom of religious expression 'audit' report, the Watch List 2026, which set out where progress had been made, but where that freedom was under threat, and I want to thank all those who made this important event happen."
